Autoblogging is still a good way to build websites easily, though Google makes it harder and harder to be successful. Autoblogs are good for building links, parking domains, getting some income from PPC or by selling affiliate products. So, overall it can be a useful strategy.
On the other hand, most of the the starter autobloggers make mistakes when they jump into this online strategy. They think, they only have to install the autoblog plugin and some keywords and that is all, they will have a website with thousands of posts, a lot of website visitors and of course the site will generate good money for them. That is the reason why most of those who start autoblogging fail.
Building [textAd2] needs organizing and you have to follow the same working techniques that we follow when we build a normal website such as keyword research, SEO, link building etc. Just we do not need to spend so much time on content generation which is the most time consuming task.
Here I would like to show 5 mistakes that are usually made when newbies start autoblogging.
Your autoblog must provide valuable content for the visitors, so they will bookmark your site and will probably come back. Building autoblogs with thousands of invaluable posts is just garbage for the internet and nothing else.
But how can you offer useful content? The first step is to find a niche, better to say a micro niche (which is not so competitive). Find relevant, targeted keywords or RSS feeds – depend on the WordPress autoblog plugin you use - and build your autoblog slowly. This way you will have site with less content, but the content will be relevant, targeted and offering valuable information for the website visitors who are interested in that niche. So simply build niche autoblogs, not mass garbage sites.
I think this is the most important step of successful autoblogging.
In case you use RSS feeds for autoblogging another point you should consider is to use snippets of the articles. Most of the autoblogging software grabs the full
articles from article directories and blogs. Getting full posts from blogs may generate some short term traffic, but in the long run not, moreover it is not an ethical thing. So it is better to show the excerpt of the posts. This way you will never have problem with copyright and the might be easier to avoid duplicate content penalty.
A good example for this technique is Google News. It shows snippets of the articles offering valuable content for visitors, since they can find the topics they are interested in at one place. Building an aggregator site based on a specific topic can be really successful business, because the visitors will find what they are interested in at one place fast and easy, so they will surely return.
For building an RSS aggregator I suggest you to use WordPress RSS Autoblog Plugin
Most of the starters who want to star autoblogging removes the links of the original site. This is not just unethical, but surely results banning from search engines. Why? Because, sooner or later the autoblog will be reported as spam for the search engines.
But if you let the links, you will even help the author of the post by giving backlinks and may be visitors. This way both of you get benefits.
Fortunately, the recent WordPress autoblog plugins offer many ways to get the content. The more type of content type you use, the better. Try to get the content form as many sources and sites as possible, but always keep in mind the relevance and the niche.
Another important thing if you want to be successful with autoblogging is to use the proper theme. Use well built, clean and optimized WordPress themes, that are easy to be navigated. This is not just important for the visitor, but also for the search engines to crawl you autoblog easier and better.
To conclude, if you want to be successful with building autoblogs you should always keep in mind that you have to build it like a normal website. And if you follow the mentioned guidelines you will have better chance to be more successful with autoblogging. Last updated by admin at July 4, 2012.
